the simple blend of dark and light can add a tremendous aroma of energy and life to the photograph. Even when a subject is out of focus or completely distorted by the light/dark equation, black and white brings the would be "dead" object to the forefront of attention. Notice how the outlined objects in these photographs are so much more in attention, while in a normal style they would be mere shapes and angles.
